It can be not easy to find gluten-free breakfasts that are both tasty and nutritious. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It sets the tone and mood for the rest of the day.

When you’re on a gluten-free diet, the usual eggs, yogurt, and sugary cereals become boring. I have compiled my favorite gluten-free breakfast recipes on the blog.

There are many options for a gluten-free breakfast that are wholesome and satisfying. Some are sweet, others savory. Some are naturally gluten-free, while others have been modified to be gluten-free.

There’s a breakfast for everyone, whether it’s a celebratory one or something more general for the week. The conventional eaters will not even know they are eating a gluten-free breakfast!

You’ll notice that my children don’t eat cereal very often for breakfast. Either it’s really boring or loaded with sugar, flavorings, and fillers. It’s not easy to carry it with you, as we do so often.

I stock my freezer with breakfasts that can be made ahead and my pantry with breakfast staples. Included are:

  • Fresh fruit is ready for sale, washed and chopped wherever possible
  • Milk and yogurt are a great combination.
  • You can use flours (almond, coconut, oat gluten-free, brown, rice, and a good blend of all-purpose gluten-free flour) for making any breakfast you like.
  • Nut butter for baking or to enjoy with an apple cut into pieces.
  • Cheese
  • Oats gluten-free

When you first go gluten-free, I think you should learn how to cook breakfast. It’s also cookies. What about breakfast biscuits?

You can’t find good gluten-free muffins, waffles or pancakes. Real Bagels are also hard to come by. When you host a holiday in the spring or want to have a large, leisurely brunch with your family and close friends, it’s important to include everyone’s favorites.

My extended family did not understand at all when my son, who was a toddler at the time, decided to go gluten-free. They would not stop at the bagel shop on their way to our home, no matter the risk.

I made a promise to myself that I would learn how to make bagels gluten-free that rivaled those sold in New York, and I would refuse gluten at the front door. It’s done!
