6 Healthier Chocolate Recipes for Easter March 18 2016 by Simone Denny

Well Easter has come early this year, can you believe it’s the end of next week? I have been digging out some of my favourite chocolate recipes and testing out a few new ones to share with you. This week I have created these Raw Chocolate Caramel Kisses, the closest thing I could get to a caramel easter egg. All of these recipes are gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free and full of lots of nutrient dense ingredients. In saying that many of recipes still use dates or maple syrup so should still be considered a special occasion food :)

Raw Cacao Nest

This is a great recipe for Easter or can made at any time of the year. It is a great activity to do with kids.

Raw Chocolate Salted Caramel Kisses

These little golden caramel filled raw chocolates were as close as I could get to creating a caramel easter egg this year. They also reminded me of hershey caramel kisses, which I remember sampling when living in the USA.

I love this recipe because first and foremost, it tastes like a very decadent dessert it’s so rich and chocolatey – it’s hard to believe it is not made of chocolate and cream! Raw Salted Caramel Crunch Bar

These are really delicious decadent bars and taste a bit like old school caramel. The crunch adds a nice twist to these bars. There is a bit of prep time involved with leaving the bars to freeze and then dipping them in their coating but they make a generous number and are well worth the effort.

Some of the best recipes I've made have come out an emergency situation - one thing fails and then I literally have minutes to make a back up plan. This was one of these situations! I love this recipe because it can be made so quickly and you really can put whatever you like inside these little morsels.
