Eco Christmas Gifts For The Person Who Has Everything December 04 2017 by Simone Denny
Something I am very passionate about is reducing the environmental impact of the goods I purchase this Christmas. I'm trying very hard to minimise my purchasing of plastic items, which essentially remain on this planet for 100's if not 1000's of years (it breaks my heart).
As this topic is close to my heart I have chosen my favourite products that are plastic free5, or that replace plastic items. I use a lot of these products in my home and absolutely love all of them. I also love giving them as gifts as I know they are having a positive impact on the planet.
The products I recommend below are wonderful alternatives to plastic bottles, take-away coffee cups, plastic straws, plastic lunch wrap, synthetic fragrances and plastic packaging - all of which are having a devastating impact to our environment and to our health.
API Reusable BeeswaxWraps - Apiwraps Beeswax Wraps are a healthy, eco-friendly, sustainable replacement for plastic wrap – and it just WORKS! Choose from 3 different sizes. It's so easy to use and you can use your Apiwrap again and again for a year and often longer before you'll need to replace it. Brand new to the Nourishing Hub - I'm delighted to have SoL cups and Bottles stocked on the Nourishing Hub. SoL Cups and Bottles are for ending waste and embracing taste. Happy, healthy, sustainable and beautiful, SoL Cups have designed their hand blown glass cups and bottles using materials that keep the heat in and the nasties out.
Glass is made from naturally abundant materials – namely sand – and is far less permeable than plastics, meaning glass won’t absorb residual tastes, odours or germs, and won’t leach chemicals (known to be endocrine disruptors in the body) into your beverage. As a result, SoL Cups offer purity of taste – your drink is fresher and cleaner, and you’ll have zero concerns for your health.
About one third of waste disposal facilities is made up of packaging materials. Each year in Australia, over one billion takeaway coffee cups are produced and disposed of.
SoL Cups come in a beautifully crafted gift box.
