Power Super Foods Maqui Berry - 100g 15% OFF
Maqui - this 'Patagonian Superfruit' with a super deep purple colour and mild berry taste is native to Chile and regularly consumed by the Mapuche Indians. Maqui is raw wild-harvested and freeze-dried (not spray-dried) for maximum nutrient preservation and has no fillers or sweeteners added.
Maqui berries are believed to have the highest concentration of antioxidants of ANY food available on the market today.
With an ORAC antioxidant score that's 3 times higher than even Acai berry it has the added punch of antioxidants like anthocyanins (like blueberries) polyphenols Vitamins A & C iron potassium and Omega-6.
Maqui Berries contain an antioxidant called anthocyanin. Recent research from Japan showed that anthocyanins had the ability to affect how fat cells behaved and had strong weight loss qualities when included in high concentrations into a diet. The maqui berry contains ten times more anthocyanins than any other food and this is why it is beneficial for fighting fat.

Power Superfoods Salad Dressing: this tastes so delicious and is really lovely for guests (consider using all-organic ingredients)
Pour below dressing over a salad bowl of baby spinach and fancy lettuces garnish with toasted hazelnuts or similar.
In a sealable container shake until well mixed:
- 1/3 cup walnut or other tasty salad oil
- 1 Tbsp Maqui Berry Powder
- 1.5 tsp Dijon or Grainy Mustard
- 2 Tbsp raspberry wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Sustainably Sweet Coconut Palm Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp dried Herbes de Provence (or 1 Tbsp mixed fresh herbs)
- salt & fresh ground pepper to taste
Optional: 1 Tbsp plain yogurt
Maqui berry happily grows in over-exploited soils in its native country of Chile and as such is a great erosion deterrent. The Mapuche Indian tribe located there were the only tribe in North or South America unconquered by European colonisers - they reportedly ate very little solid food but frequently drank a fermented Maqui beverage which they attributed to their relatively long lives and superior strength.
How do you describe the texture/taste/aroma??
A very fine-grain powder with a faintly berry' aroma and pleasantly plain citrus-kissed' taste - and much like Acai powder!
Are the superfruit powders 100% pure?
YES! there are NO fillers free-running agents or sweeteners (eg. maltodextrin)
What's the difference between freeze-dried and spray-dried powders?
Freeze-drying is a snap cold process ensuring maximum nutrient and antioxidant preservation and preserving the deep natural pigment colours. Spray drying can subject the product to potentially nutrient-robbing heat during processing often changing the colour texture or flavour so sweeteners are then sometimes added in.
